FLUSHING WATERFRONT | JANET PLACE
ABB’s Janet Place, a new 3.7-acre, mixed-use development planned for the Flushing Creek waterfront, includes a 40-foot-wide accessible shore public walkway that links up with 17,000 SF of upland park to provide both passive and active recreational amenities. The terraced garden and play area are designed and sited between the proposed building’s finished floor elevation and the shoreline, to optimize an over 10-foot grade change. Plantings, walkways, and seating establish visual and physical connections to the surrounding streets and waterfront. Riprap revetment stabilizes the shoreline, while hardy drought-tolerant plantings and salt-resistant materials appropriate for shoreline exposure add resiliency to this design.
